Kennel Cough InformationOne of the public relations problems for boarding kennels today is caused by a much misunderstood disease in dogs called "canine cough," Tracheobronchitis, or often improperly referred to as "kennel cough." This is probably a misnomer, since most dogs that get this disease have not been in kennels. |

Choosing a Dog TrainerThe single most important tip I can give to selecting a trainer is to make sure you choose someone who has a broad range of approaches to training your dog. If a trainer says “I only use food rewards” or “I insist that every dog I train is on a check (choker) chain” then keep looking. The best trainers will use a range of tools and approaches and endeavour to find the best tools and techniques for you and your dog.. |

Choosing a Kennel for Your PetMake sure you can inspect the kennel facility. A kennel operator should be happy for you to walk through the facility. Make sure you see where your dog will be kept, where dogs are exercised and where their food is prepared. All these areas should be scrupulously clean and well maintained. If possible, have a look at the dog washing areas and office. All areas of a kennel facility should be clean and tidy. Your nose will tell you how clean the kennels is. |
