Environmental Considerations
Our boarding facility was designed to be as environmentally responsible as possible.
Waste from both kennels is processed by a worm farm septic system which disposes of all solid and liquid waste. The residual water and worm castings are then directed back into the grassed areas. Rainwater from the roof of the kennel building is stored in large tanks and utilised in both the kennel and garden. All waste water from kennels and grooming is used around the yard to water the garden.
Our acoustic ceilings were designed to minimise noise levels both within and outside our dog boarding kennels as well as providing extremely good thermal insulation which reduces the need for excessive heating or cooling of the facility.
The concrete floors and walls have been treated with an antimicrobial densifier, which seals the concrete to prevent ingress of urine and chemicals and eradicate mould, microbes, deep seated disease, acids, oils and body fats. Our boarding facility meets and exceeds all of the requirements set down by the Code of Practice for the Operation of Boarding Establishments and the Domestic (Feral and Nuisance) Animal Act.
